The 2009 Ohio Asphalt Paving Conference (OAPC) is scheduled for February 4, 2009. The conference is moving to the Alladin Shrine Center at 3850 Stelzer Rd., Columbus, Ohio near Easton, to accomodate more attendees.

The OAPC is an independent conference sponsored by The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), Asphalt Institute (AI), County Engineers Association of Ohio (CEAO), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Flexible Pavements of Ohio (FPO), Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), Ohio State University (OSU) and Ohio University (OU). Administrative functions are performed for the conference by FPO.

NEW REGISTRATION POLICY FOR ODOT EMPLOYEES

The conference fee for ODOT employees who wish to attend the Ohio Asphalt Paving Conference (OAPC) will no longer be paid for by purchase order as in the past.

If you are an exempt (non-bargaining unit) employee, application for monies to cover the cost of the conference should be made to the Exempt Professional Development Program (EPDP). This application must be made at least 30 days ahead of the conference registration deadline for pre-payment or 14 days ahead for reimbursement. Applications MUST be pre-approved prior to the event. DAS is strict about these rules. The conference registration paid by EPDP pays for the conference registration and lunch only. Travel expenses are not covered under the EPDP. The OAPC does appear on the Office of Budget and Management's Ohio Payment Card Approved Service Vendor List so that a pre-pay application can be made. Assistance/information regarding the EPDP should be directed to Victoria Beale at ODOT Central Office 614-466-3129. You are reminded that, regardless if pre paid or not, proof of having attended the conference needs submitted to EPDP within 30 days after the event.

If you are a bargaining unit employee, application for monies to cover the cost of the conference should be made to the Union Education Trust (UET). This application must be made at least 30 days ahead of the conference registration deadline. Forms and instructions are available at www.uedtrust.org
